Stephanie Boles Kavanagh, of Newtown, passed away on Monday, June 17, 2013, at St. Mary Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was 40.

She was the beloved wife of 16 years to Michael Kavanagh.

Born in Niskayuna, NY, she was the daughter of John and Judy Arnold Boles of Estero, FL and daughter-in-law of the late John and Jane Sell Kavanagh.

Stephanie grew up in Ridgefield, CT and was a 1991 graduate of Ridgefield High School where she excelled in both academics and in athletics, especially swimming. She continued to excel in the classroom and swimming pool at Bucknell University, where she set several school records in the breast stroke. While at Bucknell, she met and fell in love with her future husband, Michael.

For many years Stephanie had a rewarding and successful career with great companies such as Bantam, Doubleday, Dell and Schering Plough. Although once her children were born these success and achievements were mere tokens as her children became the center of her life.

Her passion as a wife and mother were paramount. She enjoyed the challenges and rewards that came with every new day. She taught her family and friends many lessons and showed them how to laugh, hold their heads high, and leave a positive mark on everyone that they met. Her spirit, laughter and positive influence on others will always be remembered and cherished.

She is survived by her daughter Michaela and son Dylan, her sister Kristin Phillips and her husband David of Fincastle, VA, and her brother-in-law John Kavanagh and his wife Pam of Olney, MD. She is also survived by her 2 nieces Tabitha and Esther and 2 nephews Jack and Colin.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Friday, June 21, 2013 from 5:00 — 7:00pm and her Funeral Mass on Saturday, 11:00am all at the Church of St. Andrew, 81 Swamp Rd. Newtown, PA 18940.

Interment will follow in Newtown Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to University of Pennsylvania lung cancer research. Checks can be made payable to Trustees of University of Pennsylvania and sent to 3535 Market Street; Suite 750, Philadelphia, PA 19104 ATTN: Natalie Reznik.
