Ewald Paul Kunst of Southampton, PA died peacefully on Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at Southampton Estates surrounded by his family. He was 93.
He was the beloved husband of the late Beatrice Ruth Kolp Kunst for 55 years and the late Marcelle G. Whitmer Kunst for 11 years.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Walter Kuno and Elizabeth Killmer Kunst and brother of the late Mildred Elizabeth Kunst.
Mr. Kunst was a resident of Southampton for the past 65 years. He was raised in the Fox Chase section of Philadelphia. In his childhood he was active as a Boy Scout and continued to serve the Boy Scouts in various capacities throughout his lifetime. Paul was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army having served during World War II and also a lifelong and very active member of the American Legion. He also was a member of F & AM Friendship Williams Lodge #400. Before his retirement, he was employed as a tool and die maker with the Budd Company in Philadelphia. For most of his life he was a member of North and Southampton Reformed Church where he served as a deacon and in many other capacities. He will be sadly missed as a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother.
He is survived by his children, Paulette D. Lance and her husband, Joe, Joseph C. Kunst and his wife, Kathy, Valerie A. Powell and her husband, Mike, Cynthia A. Bird and her husband, Robert, Kimberly R. Hedrick and her husband, Terry, and Jennifer G. Nace and her husband, Ryan. He is also survived by his sister, Emily Alma Wynne, 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Monday, June 24, 2013, from 10:30 AM until his Funeral Service 11:30 AM at North and Southampton Reformed Church, 1380 Bristol Road, Churchville, PA 18966.
Interment will take place at Churchville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Memorial Fund of North and Southampton Reformed Church at the above address or to Make-A-Wish-Foundation, One Valley Square, 512 Township Line Road, Suite 133, Blue Bell, PA 19422.
