Valerie Evans, formerly of Churchville, passed away on June 24, 2013 at Twining Village. She was 97.

Born in New York City, she was a daughter of the late John and Lena Lackovic Janitz.

She was the beloved wife of over 50 years to the late George R. Evans.

Valerie was a faithful communicant of St. Bede the Venerable Church for over 45 years. Before moving to Twining Village, she had been a resident of Churchville since 1956. She enjoyed being a homemaker and raising her family. Prior to that was a dental assistant in New York. Valerie enjoyed volunteering, and did so at the former Warminster Hospital, now Abington Hospital at Warminster, and also at the St. Joseph Home. She was a member of the Legion of Mary at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church. Valerie was a loving mother, wife and grandmother, and she will be remembered as a warm, caring woman who was loved by many. She will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her daughter: Katherine A. Halifko, wife of the late Richard of Little Egg Harbor, NJ; her grandchildren: Tracy Trimblett, wife of Chris and Scott Davis, husband of Lisa; great granddaughters: Kristi Lynn Fredricks, wife of John and Kaitlyn Marie Davis; great grandson: Garrett Fredricks; sister-in-law: Kay Janitz, wife of the late Steve; niece: Valerie Janitz and nephew: Steve Janitz.

Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing from 10:00 am until her Funeral Mass at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 29, 2013 from St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Rd. Holland, PA 18966.

Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
