Kathryn A. Henry of Churchville, PA died peacefully on Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at Pickering Manor Home, Newtown, PA. She was 85.
She was the beloved wife of the late James L. Henry Sr.
Born in Lewistown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Helen Willis Houser, mother of the late Robert E. Henry, and sister of the late Raymond J. Houser Jr. and Francis W. Houser.
Mrs. Henry was a resident of Churchville for the past 27 years. She graduated from Lewistown High School, Class of 1946. She was a free lance writer for many years, editor and owner of Bucks County Life, held a public relations position with a non-profit organization and worked in center city Philadelphia for 11 years as an employment recruiter. In 1984, she established her own business, Kay Henry Incorporated, an executive recruiting company located in Feasterville until her retirement in 2004. Kay was a faithful communicant of St. Vincent de Paul Church and a member of the Parish Council. She was a longtime member of the choir, initiator of the Ministry of Hospitality and founder of the Angel Food ministry, a program that supplies meals to families in need. In her leisure time, she loved to entertain family, friends and neighbors. Family was very special to her and she cherished the times spent with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She will be sadly missed as a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.
She is survived by her six loving children and their spouses, Martha M. and James Wittstruck of Lakeville, MN, James L. Jr. and Ann Henry of West Chester, PA, Thomas R. and Martha Henry of Holtwood, PA, Kathryn A. and John Owens of Jamison, PA, Christine L. and Andrew Dougherty of Glenside, PA, and William T. and Kathleen Henry of Greenfield, OH. She is also survived by her two brothers, James Patrick Houser of Lewistown, PA, Rev. Samuel E. Houser of York, PA and her sister, Helen M. Elmer of Brookhaven, PA, 18 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Sunday, July 7, 2013, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and Monday, July 8, 2013, from 9:00 AM until 10:15 AM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Road), Richboro, PA 18954 and to her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 654 Hatboro Road, Richboro, PA.
Interment will take place at Hatboro Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Church at the above address.
