Carmen C. Doranzo, formerly of Roxborough section of Philadelphia passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne. He was 86.

He was the beloved wife of the late Antoinette Jarosiewicz Doranzo.

Born in New Jersey, he was a son of the late Salvatore and Virginia Doranzo, and brother to the late Connie Massaro, Carole Doranzo, Josephine Cioci and Samuel Doranzo.
Carmen was a resident of Roxborough for over 20 years. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and was a faithful communicant and former choir member at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.

He was the owner of the Fountain Deli, located on Fountain Street in Philadelphia. Although he ran the deli to support his family, his true passion was opera. In his younger days he had trained as a baritone. For 25 years, he did not perform, instead focusing on his family. In the late 1980’s, Carmen fulfilled his dream by establishing the Valley Green Opera Theater. He had also performed at Academy of Music and the Bristol Theatre. In his free time, he used his gift to volunteer with nursing homes and hospitals, using his vocal talents to lift the spirits of those around him. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed.

Carmen is survived by his daughters, Carol A. Reese and her husband David of Holland and Joan Doranzo of Feasterville; his brothers: Frank Doranzo of North Wales and Louis Doranzo of Miami; his sister, Angie Deeney of Lansdale; and his grandchildren: Michael and Lauren Reese.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 from 10:00 AM until his Funeral Mass 11:00 AM at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Road, Holland, PA 18966.

Interment will follow at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery in Langhorne.

In lieu of flowers, mass cards or contributions in his memory may be made to Attleboro Resident Trust Fund, 300 E. Winchester Ave., Langhorne, PA 19047.
