James A. Dunn of Warminster died peacefully on Tuesday, August 6th, at Temple University Hospital. He was 73.
Mr. Dunn was the husband of Helen Flangheddy Dunn for 46 years. Born in Boston, Massachusetts he was the son of the late John and Mary Dunn and brother of the late Mary Dooley, John Dunn, Ruth Dunn, Frances Leary, and Jeanne Dunn.
Jim graduated from Malden Catholic High School in Malden, Massachusetts and received his undergraduate and master degrees in electrical engineering from Northeastern University in Boston. Jim worked as an electrical engineer at the Naval Air Development Center (renamed the Naval Air Warfare Center) from 1964 until his retirement in 1994. He thoroughly enjoyed his job and the outstanding people with whom he worked. As a devoted family man, Jim also contributed to his community in many ways. Over the years he volunteered his services to Big Brothers, Bucks County Science Seminar, Warminster Soccer Club, Warminster Symphony Board, Centennial School Board, and the Warminster Park and Recreation Board (which was his personal favorite for 25 years).
In addition to his wife Helen, Jim is survived by his sons Sean Dunn and his wife Maribel of Morton, and Brian Dunn of Pottstown. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Thomas Flangheddy, sisters-in-law Veronica Powers and her husband Walter, and Evangeline Dunn-Sweeney, longtime best friends Robert and Karen Gallagher, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and family of friends in Pennsylvania.
Jim’s family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 13th, from 1:00pm until a sharing of remembrances at 2:00pm in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland RD), Richboro, PA 18954.
