Hugh F. Thornton of Richboro passed away suddenly on Tuesday August 13, 2013 at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne. He was 80.

He was the beloved husband of 57 years to Marian “Pat” Kearney Thornton.

Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late James and Mary Muckian Thornton.

Hugh was a former resident of the Lawndale section of Philadelphia before moving to Richboro in 1976. He was the Executive Vice President of Lehigh Press in Pennsauken, New Jersey and always considered himself a printer. Hugh retired from Lehigh Press after 43 years of service. He was a veteran of the US Army and a communicant of St. Bede the Venerable Church in Holland. In his leisure, he enjoyed traveling and spending quality time with his family. Hugh will be deeply missed by his family and by all who came to know him.

In addition to his beloved wife Marian, Hugh is survived by his 4 dear children and their spouses, Kevin F. and Theresa Thornton of Chalfont, Gerald P. and Peggy Thornton of Holland, Sharon R. and Matthew Allen of Newtown and Caroline M. and Thomas Erickson of Yardley. He is also “Grandpop” to his 13 cherished grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Saturday, August 17th from 9:30am until his Funeral Mass at 11:00am in St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Rd., Holland, PA 18966.

Interment will follow at Union Cemetery in Richboro.
