Henry L. Haid, of Langhorne, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2013 at St. Mary Medical Center with his family by his side. He was 79.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was a son of the late Henry and Alva Corkett Haid.

He was the beloved husband of 32 years to Mary Lou Eller Haid.

Hank was a resident of Yardley and Langhorne for many years. He enjoyed being outdoors, and loved golfing, fishing and biking. Hank was an excellent woodworker, and an enthusiastic chess player. He also loved to dance, especially with his loving wife. One of his true passions was traveling. Although he visited many places over the years, his favorites were the National Parks.

Anyone would have been proud to know Hank. He was honest and honorable, automatically doing the right thing and never looking for a pat on the back. He was ethical and responsible. If he gave his word, he would always follow through. He was thoughtful and snarky. He knew how to make everyone laugh with his witty, clever and hilarious remarks. Hank was one of those very special people whom everyone liked; it was impossible not to like him because he was kind, outgoing, strong and charismatic. Hank was a best friend to many, a remarkable father and grandfather to several, and an outstanding and irreplaceable husband to one Mary Lou Haid. He will be dearly missed.

In addition to his wife, Hank is survived by his children: Carolyn Brodsky and her fiancee Michael Cochrane of Norwalk, CT, Thomas Sullivan and his wife Kelly of Salt Lake City, UT, David Sullivan and his wife Caralyn of Nokesville, VA, Jennifer Mottola of Long Island, NY, John Haid of Long Island, NY, and Henry Haid and his wife Patricia of Long Island, NY; son-in-law Duke Brodsky; his sister: Betty Vogel and her husband Norman; and his grandchildren: Rae, Tyler, Logan, Addison, Hudson, and Malachy Sullivan, Maxwell, Austin, and Carly Brodsky, Emily Cochrane, Christopher, Courtney, and Matthew Sullivan, and Brian and Thomas Mottola, and Matthew Haid.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 from 10:30 am to his Funeral Mass at 11:30 am in the Church of St. Andrew, 81 Swamp Rd., Newtown, PA 18940. Interment will be private.
