John F. Aubin of New Britain, PA died on Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at Doylestown Hospital. He was 59.

John was the beloved husband of 35 years to Carol L. Boland Aubin.

Born in Arlington, VA, he was the son of Gerald and Mary Steinbacher Aubin.

John graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech in 1977. He then advanced his studies at Temple University, earning a Masters degree in Business Administration in 1982 and at Drexel University, where he earned a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering in 1988.

John started his career at Harris Corporation in 1977 and then worked two years at American Electronics Laboratories Inc. In 1980 John joined Flam & Russell as a Development Engineer. In 1996 when Flam & Russell merged with Orbit Advanced Technologies Inc., John’s career of 33 years with Orbit/FR progressed to the role of Chief Technology Officer and Vice President. John served as a principal design engineer on a number of automated antenna and radar measurement systems. From its inception, John was a regular contributor to the Antenna Measurement Techniques Association (AMTA), where he served on the Board of Directors, its Technical Committee and as a Host for the 2000 Annual Symposium. John authored over 40 papers on antenna, radar and measurement technology and was the co-inventor on several patents.

In his leisure, John enjoyed reading and studying military and geographical history. He was an accomplished world traveler who had a goal of seeing all 50 states. John was an avid Hokie fan, but most of all he was a loving and devoted husband, father and friend. John will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure to know and love him.

In addition to his wife Carol, John is survived by his son Gerald J. Aubin and his sister Catherine M. Aubin.
