Joan S. Hentz of Holland, PA, died peacefully on Sunday, October 13, 2013, at Chandler Hall Hospice in Newtown with her family by her side. She was 79.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Anna M. Edwards Hentz and sister of the late Marion Leona Hentz.

Joan was a resident of Holland for the past 13 years and formerly lived in Northeast Philadelphia for many years. She graduated from Germantown High School in Philadelphia, Class of 1951. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as Assistant Director of Finance for the American Cancer Society for 35 years. She had a strong love for animals and enjoyed working on crossword puzzles in her leisure time. Her family was always the first priority in her life. She will be sadly missed as a loving mother and grandmother.

Joan is survived by her daughter, Marie Hentz Maginity and her husband, Mark, of Doylestown, PA, and her two loving granddaughters, Kyra and Dana Maginity.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Thursday, October 17, 2013, from 9:00 am until her Funeral Mass at 10:00 am in St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Road, Holland, PA 18966.

Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham, PA.
