William Robert Baumher, of Doylestown, died on Saturday, November 23, 2013, at Doylestown Hospital with his family by his side. He was 84 years old.

He was the beloved husband of the late Alice Anne Devlin Baumher and father of the late Carol Baumher Oelschlegel.

Born in Cincinnati, OH he was one of ten children of the late Adam E. and Mary Ann Woll Baumher.

Bill was married for forty-eight years. He and his late wife were active members of Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish, serving as ushers. After his wife’s death in 2003, Bill continued to usher at the 5 pm Saturday mass weekly.

Bill worked for forty-four years at the Reading Railroad (Conrail) as a train dispatcher. Additionally Bill worked part time at A&P Supermarkets and obtained his real estate license. He remained active in real estate until his death.

He was a member of the Reading Railroad retiree club and held officer positions throughout the years. His hobbies included gardening, cooking, and travelling. Bill loved hosting holiday dinners and picnics, entertaining, and dining out with friends and family. Bill made friends easily because of his kind, generous spirit and good sense of humor. He was a loyal friend and will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his children William and Debbie Baumher of North Wales, Charlie and Pam Baumher of Doylestown, Susan and William Mitchell of Warwick, Anne and Lou Wilson of Hatfield, Rick and Amie Baumher of Uniondale, PA, and his son in law Mark Oelschlegel of Doylestown. Also surviving are two sisters: Marie Baumher of Hatboro and Grace Bloemker of Hatboro. He is also survived by his eight dear grandchildren: Andrew Baumher, Rebecca Baumher, Billy Baumher, Candice Baumher, Jenny Baumher, Eric Baumher, Chris Baumher, and Mark Oelschlegel.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewings, Tuesday, November 26, 2013 from 6:00 — 8:00pm and Wednesday, November 27, from 8:30-9:45 am at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Ave. (at Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain, PA 18901 and to his Funeral Mass 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Doylestown.

His interment will be in St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 235 East State Street, Doylestown, PA 18901.
