Ed was an athlete, and especially enjoyed running. In his younger years, he used this skill to earn a scholarship to college. During his lifetime he enjoyed going to the gym, and was often seen at the Cranford Fitness Center. Ed was an active life member of the Cranford VFW Post 335.
He was Irish through and through, and enjoyed anything that celebrated his heritage, especially music. He was a guitar player and singer of traditional Irish songs and played occasionally with the Tipsy Rover Band of Cranford.
