Nancy E. Serfass-Hanson of Richboro, PA died peacefully on Wednesday, January 1st, at Holy Redeemer Hospice in Meadowbrook, PA. She was 74.
She was the beloved wife of the late Henry P. Hanson.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Leroy & Elisabeth Hrichak-Serfass and sister of the late Judith Farley.
Nancy was an unconditionally loving, mother, grandmother, sibling, sister-in-law, and friend. She was generous and giving to all. In a word, she was simply ‘radiant’ both inside & out. She was full of beauty, incredible strength, dignity, and grace & was a positive person touching everyone she knew. Thanks to her religious beliefs, she instilled a strong love of God and the Catholic faith in all of her children and grandchildren.
She was active, exercised to stay healthy, & took great care of herself. She enjoyed traveling & having good times with her friends. Spending time with her family was the most important part of her life. She was called ‘GG’, short for Gorgeous Grandmom by her grandchildren, & they said she helped them learn how to make good decisions and that: “GG gave the most wonderful hugs”.
She will be deeply missed by all & her strength & loving influence will live on in our hearts forever.
Nancy is survived by her 6 loving and devoted children, her four daughters: Susan L. Miller (her husband Michael of Winter Park, FL), Kelly M. Hanson (her husband Scott Barris of Warrington), Samantha A. Messenger (her husband Donald of Chalfont), Arlene T. Hanson of Richboro, & her two sons, Sebastian P. Hanson of Richboro & Jonathan Hanson of Emmaus, PA. She is also survived by her 4 brothers; Richard, John, James, and Charles Serfass and her 7 grandchildren; Shaina A. and Colin P. Messenger, Valent H. Zehel, Victoria N. Miller, Jamie A. Shetzline, Haley A. Hanson, and Xavier J. Peter.
Nancy’s family will receive condolences on Thursday, January 9th, from 8:30 AM until words of remembrance are offered at 10:10am with her Funeral Mass following at 10:30 AM in St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Road, Holland, PA 18966.
Interment will follow at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, Langhorne, PA.
Nancy bravely fought her diagnosis of lymphoma since 2006. Therefore, in lieu of flowers, Nancy and her family would prefer that contributions in her memory would be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 555 North Lane Suite 5010 Conshohocken, PA 19428 (610)-238-0360.
