Edward C. Buchholz, of Warminster, died on Wednesday January 1, 2014 at St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne. He was 86.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the beloved husband of the late Katie M. Senatore Buchholz and son of the late Edward and Anna Barbara (Heinz) Buchholz.

Ed was a resident of the Juniata Park section of Philadelphia for nearly 50 years before moving to Ivyland, where he and Katie lived for almost 7 years. He later moved to Ann’s Choice in Warminster, where he enjoyed participating in classes and meeting new friends.

Ed worked for Western Electric Company in Philadelphia and King of Prussia for 34 years, retiring in 1990 from what was then known as Lucent Technologies. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving after World War II, and was honorably discharged in 1947.

Ed liked to sketch and paint, especially with oils and acrylics, and his artwork graces the walls of his family’s homes. He was also a former member of the Juniata Park Senior Citizens and served as chaplain for the Juniata Park post of the American Legion. Ed was also a devoted Phillies and Eagles fan.

Ed is survived by his daughters, MaryAnn Buchholz and Patricia Guth and her husband Gary; one brother Karl W. Buchholz (Margie); and 2 grandchildren Ryan (Laura) Guth and Emily Guth.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, January 7, 20l4 from 9:30 am until his Funeral Service at 11:00 am at Lutheran Church of God’s Love, 791 Newtown-Yardley Road, Newtown, PA 18940.

Interment will follow in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, Langhorne.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ed’s memory may be made to the Ann’s Choice Restricted Fund (memo: BCF/Ed Buchholz) and mailed to Ann’s Choice, 20000 Ann’s Choice Way, Warminster, PA 18974.
