Gloria M. “Lori” Bittner, MD, of Newtown died peacefully surrounded by her devoted family on Sunday, March 17, 2019, at Vitas Hospice at Nazareth Hospital. She was 64.

Lori was the loving and devoted wife of Dr. Arthur J. Barnaby, MD.

Born in Queens, NY she was the daughter of the late Leonard J. and Gloria Bevilacqua Bittner.

Raised in Woodhaven, NY Lori later spent much of her life in Pennsylvania.  She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from SUNY at Stony Brook and went on to attend Medical School at the University of Guadalajara and NYU School of Medicine.  She taught at the University of Virginia Medical Center and was employed for almost 20 years at Nazareth Hospital in Philadelphia as an interventional Radiologist.  Lori enjoyed spending her free time knitting, cooking, and getting coffee with her friends and her daughters.  She was also an active parishioner of the Church of St. Andrew in Newtown and volunteered some of her time with “Walking With Purpose” and also helped at local women’s clinics providing ultrasound services.  Her selfless devotion to helping other was admired by all and she will be dearly missed as a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend.

In addition to her beloved husband, Lori is survived by her devoted daughters; Johnna P. Barnaby and Devin J. Barnaby. She is also survived by her brother Dr. Justin Bittner, sister-in-law Theresa Core, her sister Toni-Ann Hollywood and her husband James Hollywood.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewings Thursday evening from 6:00pm to 8:00pm and on Friday from 10:30 am until her con-celebrated Funeral Mass 12 Noon at St. Andrew Catholic Church 81 Swamp Rd. Newtown. Interment will follow in the Parish Cemetery.
