Anella T. (Angelina) Ferrara of Morrisville, died peacefully on Monday, March 18, 2019, surrounded by family at the home of her daughter in Washington Crossing. She was 89.
Born in Treschow, Nell was the beloved wife of the late Salvatore S. Ferrara and devoted daughter of the late Dominic and Mary DiBlasi Miraldo.
Nell was a graduate of Hazelton High School, and did both her undergraduate and graduate studies at Penn State University in the field of education.
Nell taught for several years in the Royersford School District in Montgomery County. After marrying Sal in 1956, they moved from Philadelphia to Morrisville in 1962. Nell lived there until 2012. Nell and her late husband lived their faith. They were parishioners of both St. John the Evangelist Church in Morrisville and Sacred Heart Church in Trenton. Anella was a faithful member of St. John’s Altar Society for many years. An avid gardener with a “green thumb”, Nell so enjoyed getting her hands dirty, planting and tending and seeing God’s beauty grow and flourish. She was a doting grandmother to her fifteen (15) grandchildren who were equally devoted to her. They brought great joy to her life sharing their every accomplishment and adventure with her, and who lovingly surrounded her at the time of her death. She was happiest during holiday gatherings surrounded by her large, devoted family.
Anella is survived by her children: Stephen S. Ferrara and his wife Jennifer, Joseph D. Ferrara and his wife Caroline, Robert J. Ferrara and his wife Joanne and Mary F. Anderson, and her husband Jeffrey. She is also survived by her brother-in-law and his wife, Joseph and Barbara Ferrara and her niece Diane, her husband Jeremy Hoffman, and their two children Joseph and Michael, and her sister-in-law Doris Miraldo. She was predeceased by brothers Peter and John Miraldo, as well as by her sisters Mary Herhal and Anne Blanchard. Her love was passed on to her fifteen (15) grandchildren: Anthony, Joseph, Katherine, Peter, Marisa, Stephen, Gabriel, Angelina, Elizabeth, Beverly, Anella, Salvatore, Mark, Joseph and the late Dominic.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Friday evening March 22, from 5:30pm until 8:00 pm at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro and to her Funeral Mass Saturday March 23, at 12 Noon in Sacred Heart Church 343 S. Broad St. Trenton NJ, 08608. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem.
