Mary “Ginny” Cherry of Trevose died peacefully on Saturday, January 26, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. She was 91.
Ginny was the beloved wife of 63 years to the late William F. Cherry.
Born in Philadelphia, Ginny was the daughter of the late Thomas and Ethel Guether Kavanagh and the mother of the late William J. Cherry.
Ginny was a former resident of Philadelphia before moving to Trevose in 1955. She was a communicate of Assumption B.V.M. Church in Feasterville and in her leisure time, she enjoyed attending the Neshaminy Senior Center in Trevose. Ginny enjoyed being near the water; whether swimming at the Somerton Springs Pools or in the ocean at the Jersey Shore. She also loved going out and singing at local establishments. Ginny was extremely family oriented and devoted countless time to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ginny will be deeply missed by her family and by all who came to know her.
Ginny is survived by her loving and devoted children Thomas J. Cherry and wife Jane of Churchville, Dawn M. Schoenleber and her husband Karl of Columbia, SC and James T. Cherry of Feasterville and her daughter in law Linda Cherry of Perkasie. She is also survived by her 8 loving grandchildren and14 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Friday February 1st from 9:30am until her Funeral Mass 11:00am in the Assumption B.V.M. Church, 1900 Meadowbrook Road, Feasterville, PA 19053. Ginny’s interment will follow in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery in Langhorne.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Respect Life Committee at the above named church or Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, www.PanCan.org.
