Howard Michael Haines of Ivyland, PA died on Friday, January 11, 2019, at Doylestown Hospital, Doylestown. He was 60.
Born in Trenton, New Jersey, Michael as he was known was the beloved son of Howard and Vivian Miller Haines. He was a life long resident of Bucks County, formerly living in Penns Park and Rushland.
Michael was a graduate of Council Rock High School and Middle Bucks Vo-Tech, class of 1976, were he excelled in mechanics. After graduation he worked for several years as a Heavy Equipment mechanic for Better Materials, Inc. in Rushland. Michael had a life long dream of being his own boss, and pursued and accomplished that starting his own Independent Contracting business and has been doing so for the past 30 years.
Michael was his own person; he loved people, places and was an avid outdoorsmen. He so enjoyed hunting, motorcycles, boating and fishing in the Somers Point area of New Jersey. He was a great listener and story teller; he always had time for family and friends. He was a communicant of St. Cyril’s Parish in Jamison and the Union County Sportsman Club. His will to live was very evident, he was a cancer survivor in his early 20’s, only to have the cancer return, he tried hard but unfortunately, could not win this battle.
His firm handshake, friendly smile and twinkle in his eye, will be sadly missed by his devoted family and many friends.
In addition to his parents, Michael is survived by his 3 devoted brothers, J.K. Haines (Kevin), Christopher C. Haines and Donald E. Haines, all of Ivyland.
Michael’s family will receive condolences on Wednesday evening January16th from 5:00 pm until his Funeral Mass 7:00 pm at St Cyril of Jerusalem Church 1410 Almshouse Rd. Jamison. His interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to St. Cyril’s Memorial Fund Society, 1410 Almshouse Rd. Jamison, PA 18929 or Alliance Cancer Specialists, 599 W. State St., Suite 312, Doylestown, PA 18901.
