Dorothy P. Quigley of Doylestown and formerly of Hatboro and North Cape May, NJ, passed away at her home on Monday, January 7, 2019 surrounded by her loving husband and family. She was 83 years old.
Dorothy was the wife of Bernard J. Quigley with whom she had shared 59 years of marriage.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late George P. and Noreen A. Durkin Farmery. Dorothy was the loving grandmother of the late Timothy Daly and the late Jonathan McIntyre and she was preceded in death by 3 siblings.
Dorothy grew up in Collingdale, Delaware County where she graduated from Collingdale High School. She would later marry her beloved Bernie and together they settled down to raise their family. When her children had grown, Dorothy led a long career as a loan officer for the Philadelphia Housing Development Corp. until her retirement.
Dorothy’s true passion was caring for and nurturing her family which she did through her countless crocheting and knitting projects. She loved gathering the family together for holiday meals and family vacations at the shore, where she was often lucky at the casinos. Dorothy simply could not get enough of being surrounded by all those she loved and in turn she was truly loved by all.
In addition to her husband, Dorothy is survived by her children, Noreen Kuhlwind (Duke), Kathleen Quigley, Patrick Quigley (Michele), Kelly McIntyre (Kevin) and Colleen Wesolowski (Ed). She also leaves behind 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Thursday, January 10, 2019 from 9:30 AM until her Memorial Service 11:00 AM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 E. Butler Ave. (at Sandy Ridge Rd.), New Britain, PA 18901. Her interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 1626 Locust St., Philadelphia, PA 19103.
