Earl N. Sladek, Retired Newtown Township Police Officer died peacefully on Thursday, December 13, 2018.  He was 72.

Born in Philadelphia Earl was the beloved husband of 25 years to Barbara Karpinski Sladek and the son of the late Harry J. and Charlotte Sladek.

Earl was a proud veteran of the Army who served his country during the Vietnam War.  He was a graduate of North East High School and of Penn State University.  Earl was a man who continued serving his fellow Americans by serving as a Newtown Township Police officer for Over 25 Years and after retirement he also worked as a Hall Monitor at Neshaminy High School and Pennsbury Middle School.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing with friends and family, playing the Guitar at church and by making people laugh with his funny faces and his humor.  Earl was an avid Phillies and Eagles Fan and also he enjoyed watching Boxing Bouts, but above all Earl truly cherished the times he spent creating special memories with his beloved family.

In addition to his wife Barbara, Earl is survived by his loving children: T.J. Szczur and his wife Danielle, Kristin Sladek, Laurie Gamble and her husband James, and Lindsay Sladek.  He is also survived by his five dear grandchildren: Declan, James, Ryan, Ophelia, and Nathan.

Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Tuesday evening Dec. 18, starting at 5 pm, at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, FOP and Masonic Services will take place at 6:45pm followed by his Funeral Service at 7:00pm.  Funeral procession to Washington Crossing National Cemetery for interment with Military Honors will assemble at 8:30 am Wednesday, Dec. 19, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers contributions in his memory may be made to either the Shriners Hospital for Children, 3551 North Broad St. Phila., PA 19140 or to the Disabled American Veterans, 3725 Alexandria Pike Cold Spring, KY 41076.
