Bernard J. Cesario, Jr., 70, General Manager for the Commodore Bay Marina in Avalon, NJ, died peacefully on Wednesday, December 5, 2018, at home in Langhorne, PA.  His death was caused by a rare form of renal cancer with which he was diagnosed at the end of July, 2018.

Bernard worked in various industries beginning with ARC Chemical Company, followed by careers with Metropolitan Life and Wabash Life. However, he was most excited by and dedicated to his latest place of employment at the Commodore Bay Marina where he worked for the last 22 years. Mr. Michael McNulty, who is the present owner of the marina, worked closely with Bernie to not only update and renovate the marina, but also establish a first rate marina in the South Jersey Region. In the ensuing months following his illness, Bernard did not let his health stop him from interacting with clients and preparing for the upcoming year.

In addition to his boating interests and his work at the marina, Bernie was an avid fisherman and captained a number of boats in his lifetime. He made numerous trips to Florida and the Caribbean over a period of years. He had honed his navigation skills to a fine art and was often consulted by his friends, family and clients.

He was known for his sense of humor and fair play. Bernie was fiercely loyal and supportive to family and friends. His was a role model for many young people with whom he worked and those who knew him. He displayed a work ethic that was admirable and emulated.

His interests include movies of various genres, his watch collection, music (including singing in a barbershop quartet) cars, sports and the latest tech gadgets. Amazon will miss his daily orders!

He is survived by Regina S. Cesario (Nee Dabitz), his wife of 48 years; his brother and sister-in-law,Robert and Judy Cesario Sr.; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mary and John Pikulak, and Barbara and Ray Dabitz; his nieces and nephews, Debra Cesario and husband Gil Bosque and children Ava and Danielle Bosque; Robert and Lisa Cesario, Jr. ,Jeannine and Michael Michele, Karrie and Ott Gairo and Renee and Timothy Wade.
