Lena Curcio, lovingly known as “Margie” throughout her lifetime, died peacefully on October 10, 2018, surrounded by those she loved. Lena was 96 years young and was a resident of Doylestown, PA. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Frank Andrew Curcio, all of her seven cherished siblings, and her son, whom she adored, Antonio Curcio. Lena is survived by her two dedicated daughters, MaryAnna (Michael) Chereisky, and Dorothea (Stefano) Tarantolo, daughter-in-law, Ellen Curcio, grandchildren Nicole (Christian) Worman, Frank (Michelle) Curcio, Francina (Roman) Ustayev, Sophia (Mark) Brown, Stefano Tarantolo III and Michela Tarantolo. Lena was blessed with six beautiful great-grandchildren, Brynn and Tyler Worman, Juliet and Lucia Curcio, Valentina and Nicoletta Ustayev, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Lena was born Michela Servodio on June 5, 1922 to Domenico and Maria Servodio in Arpaia, Italy, province of Benevento, in the region of Campania. She immigrated to Brooklyn, New York in 1939 and soon thereafter became a proud American citizen. It was in Brooklyn, New York that she met Frank Andrew Curcio, a WWII veteran and later married on June 3rd, 1950. Together they welcomed three children, Antonio, MaryAnna and Dorothea and made their well-being the most important part of their lives.

Lena worked for many years, firmly believing that everything in life was to be earned and appreciated. She taught her children respect, kindness, consideration and a strong work ethic. Lena was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, whose life was always centered around her family. She embodied strength, courage and perseverance and was steadfast in her Roman Catholic faith. She was an excellent cook and baker, especially when it came to preparing her Italian favorites. She loved knitting and crocheting as past times and became a member of the Young at Heart group in her Brooklyn parish where she enjoyed socializing with her many friends. Lena moved to Pennsylvania in 1994 and enjoyed her retirement years watching her family grow – from Pennsylvania to Omaha, Nebraska, where she would enjoy spending her summers.

Lena will be greatly missed, but will live on forever in our hearts, minds and all of our fond memories.

Ti Amiamo Per Sempre
