John A. “Jack” Fenningham of Huntingdon Valley died peacefully on Monday, February 3rd at Holy Redeemer Hospice, in Meadowbrook. He was 91.
Born in Philadelphia Jack was the devoted son of the late Charles and Helen Broll Fenningham, beloved husband of the late Mary Jane McCarthy Fenningham and proud grandfather of the late J. P. Fenningham and father-in-law of the late Stephen McCardle.
John was a resident of Huntingdon Valley for the past 55 years. He attended Northeast High School and North Catholic High School and was faithful to his Catholic education. A proud veteran of the United States Navy, during World War II, John served in the parachute rigging division.
John’s professional career spanned 42 years as an Agent with Allstate Insurance Company, working in the greater Delaware Valley. He was a member and past commander of the Pennsway Power Squadron; he also volunteered his time and talents at the Willow Grove Naval Airbase and was a proud member of the Navy League.
He will be sadly missed by his devoted and caring family.
John is survived by his children; Patricia Somma and her husband Frank, Denise B. McCardle and her fiancé Philip Ladden, John C. Fenningham, Esq, and his wife Maureen, Terence P. Fenningham, Esq, and Lori Ingle, and Kevin M. Fenningham. He is also survived by 9 dear grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Friday, February 7th from 9:30 am until his Funeral Mass 11:00 am in the Church of St. Andrew, 81 Swamp Rd., Newtown, PA 18940.
Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem.
