David P. Bennett Sr. passed away peacefully at Doylestown Hospital on Sunday, September 30, 2018. He was 63.

David was the beloved husband to Sharon Craig Bennett for 43 years.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son to the late Roy and Rita Verderame Bennett, and father to the late David P. Bennett Jr.

David grew up in Philadelphia and was a 1972 graduate of Frankford High School. After High School Dave joined the US Navy and after his Honorable Discharge he took a job at the Philadelphia Naval Yard where he worked for over 23 years.  Active Fire fighter with both the Fire Department of Montgomery Township and Chalfont, serving as a Firefighter/Engineer and worked for the Sisters of Mercy in Philadelphia since 2013 as their Maintenance Mechanic.

In his free time he enjoyed the time at the Fire House and the beach, and Grilling and BBQ was a passion

In addition to his wife Sharon, David is survived by his loving son Joseph M. Bennett, his sister -in-Law Victoria Collins, goddaughter Tracy Hacker, godson Alexander James Hacker and great nieces Kaylee Paige, Tori Lee and Josette Marion.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Friday, October 5, 2018 from 9:00AM until his Funeral Mass 11:00 AM at St. Jude Church, 321 W. Butler Ave., Chalfont, PA 18914. His interment will take place on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 10:00AM at Beulah Cemetery, 238 Almshouse Rd., New Britain, PA 18901. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions in David’s name may be made to the Fire Department of Montgomery Township, PO Box 18, Montgomeryville, PA 18936 or to the Chalfont Fire Department, 301 N. Main St., Chalfont, PA 18914.
