Maricel was a Churchville resident for 41 years before retiring to Nokomis, Florida in 2004.  She was a graduate of Universidad Javeriana in Cali and worked for the Banco de la Republica in Bogota, Colombia until she moved to the United States to get married.  After raising her family she continued her career at Trevose Federal Savings and Loan Association (Horizon Financial) in Southampton, PA.  Maricel had an adventurous spirit and loved to travel.  She also loved to cook, tell stories, play Bingo, and most importantly spend time with her family.  She was a devoted mother and grandmother and loved being a Nana.  Maricel had a big heart and a generous, loving spirit.  She loved all children and throughout her life she was involved in service work to help them.  She was instrumental in the founding of the Make a Difference Children's Foundation.
