William D. Pinkerton (Bill, Pink) of Naples Florida, originally from Doylestown, Pennsylvania, passed away Monday, September 3, 2018. He was 88 years young. Born April 6, 1930, Bill was the son of the late William and Elsie (Effinger) Pinkerton from Philadelphia.. Bill graduated from Frankford High School in Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Institute of Textile. He proudly served in the US Navy and retired as a Lieutenant Commander. He began his business career with RCA as a computer programmer which led him to his successful computer consulting firm, Pinkerton Computer Consultants with contracts worldwide and retired as CEO with his late, dearest friend and colleague, Dick Quigley by his side. Bill loved golf, enjoying summers at the Jersey shore and traveling the world.

Bill was a past member of the Doylestown Country Club in Doylestown. He was a past member of the Ocean City Yacht Club in New Jersey, Naples Sailing and Yacht Club and Mediterra Country Club, Naples. He was a current member of Grey Oaks Country Club, the Moorings Country Club and Pelican Isle Yacht Club. He was past president of the Brittany Condominium Association as well as Treasurer of the Vistas Condominium Association.

He is survived by his loving wife Bonnie (Froom) Pinkerton, daughters Patricia Rangel, Kathleen Luff (Mark), step-daughter Julie Ward (Casey) and his dear brother Richard (Leora). His loving grandchildren Vanessa Dugandzic (Aaron), Edward Rangel (Stephanie), Keleigh Goodman (Aaron), Michael Rangel (Anna), Kristina Early (Jake), Valerie and Adam Luff and Caleb Ward (Wally as affectionally known).

He also had 6 great grandchildren – Eva, Keira, Corrie, Asher, Magdelina Jade and Hailey.

Bill will be remembered as a very generous soul with quick wit always offering a humorous retort. Bill’s family will receive condolences on Sunday September 23, 2018 at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home 241 E. Butler Ave. (at Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain,  from 11:00am until Military Honors at 12:30 pm.
