David H. Smith, of Northampton Township, Pa., died quietly at the age of 87 at Attleboro Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

David will be missed by his beloved wife Elfriede Meininger Smith along with his family and friends.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Myron and Sophia Smith and was the brother of the late Marion Smith Bobbin.

Mr. Smith resided in the Bucks County area since 1954 after returning from military service in Europe. David saw service with the 82nd Air Borne, the 322nd Signal Corp and the Army Fifth Corp Headquarters.

Prior to his retirement in 1992, he was the Northeastern Regional Manager for the LeFebure Corporation, a division of the multinational De La Rue Company. David was a member of the Saint John's Lutheran Evangelical Church in Hatboro.

David is survived by his son Norman E. Smith (Lynn) of Hatboro, his two granddaughters, Kelly Franzetti (Carl) and Kerry Laughlin, his great grandchildren Shelby, Derek and Dylan, cousin Barry Ditsche (Renate) of Phoenix, MD and niece Brigitte Gropp of Frankford, Germany.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family from 12:30pm until his Funeral Service at 2:00pm on Wednesday September 19th in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954. David's interment will be private in Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown, Pa.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to St. John's Lutheran Evangelical Church, 505 N. York Road, Hatboro, PA.
