Martha P. Connolly of Holland passed Sunday, September 2, 2018 at The Fountains at Hayes Mill in Atco, New Jersey. She was 95.
Martha was the beloved wife of 50 years to the late Joseph J. Connolly.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late George and Martina Everhart McCarthy and the sister of the late Mary Jane Fenningham.
Martha was a former resident of Holland before moving to The Fountains Community in New Jersey. She was a stay-at-home mom for 20 years until the youngest was school age. During that time, she was a Den Mother with the Cub Scouts and was very involved with her children and her Catholic faith. When the family moved to Feasterville, she had worked in the office of Assumption B.V.M School in Feasterville for several years before taking a position as a teller with Central Penn Bank that eventually became Wells Fargo, retiring after 15 years of faithful service. Martha attended the French Culinary Institute in New York for one year while she was in her 70’s following the death of her husband, Joseph. She so loved the world of cooking. Martha had various artistic talents and loved musical theater. She had a fondness for High Tea in special places like The Helmsley Palace in New York or the Ritz Carlton. Martha enjoyed fishing and boating, but her greatest pleasure always came from being with her family who loved and cherished her.
Martha is survived by her 7 children; Michael Connolly and his wife Lynn of Churchville, Sharon Banfe and her husband Jerry of Berlin, NJ, Timothy Connolly and his wife Marguerite of West Chester, Jeffrey Connolly and his wife Beverly of Southampton, David Connolly and his wife Carolynn of Collegeville, Joseph Connolly Jr. and Erin of Warminster and Andrew Connolly and his wife Rosemary of Churchville. Martha is also survived by her 26 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewings from 6:00-8:00pm on Wednesday, September 5th in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954 and on Thursday, September 6 from 10:00am until her Funeral Mass 11:00am in St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Road, Holland, PA 18966.
