Gerhard A. Lux Sr. of Holland, PA died peacefully on Wednesday, February 12, 2014,surrounded by his family at St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne. He was 78.

He was the beloved husband of the late Rose Ann Najdzinski Lux.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Gerhard and Sophia Selejian Lux.

Mr. Lux was a resident of Holland for the past 17 years and formerly lived in Northeast Philadelphia for many years. He was a proud veteran having served in the U.S. Army. For 12 years, Gerhard worked as a bricklayer for Selas Corporation in Dresser Pennsylvania. In 1970 he started his own business, R.A. Lux Refractory Services, until retiring in 1990.

He was a member of the Brick Layers Union, Local #1 in Philadelphia and also a member of the Knight of Columbus Regina Coeli Council
# 4921 where he was a Fourth Degree Knight.

He loved handicapping thoroughbred race horses and was always ready for a game of black jack at the casino. He will be sadly missed as a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend to all who knew him.

He is survived by his four children; Gary A. Lux Jr. and his wife, Suzanne, of Millstone Township, NJ, Donna M. Hopkins and her husband, Stephen, of Philadelphia, Charles M. Lux and his wife, Mary, and Karen Schneider and her husband, Gerhard, all of Holland. He is also survived by his brother, Leon Jon and his wife, Christine, of Hazelton, PA and his 10 loving grandchildren; Nicole, Stephen Jr., Erik, Vickie, Jackie, Gerhard III, Gabrielle, Gillianne, Michael and Cole.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Sunday evening, February 16, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and Monday, February 17, from 8:15 to 9:15 AM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Road), Richboro, PA 18954 and to his Funeral Mass 10:00 AM at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Road, Holland. Interment will take place at St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
