Alton (Al) L. Drummond of Doylestown died peacefully after a long and courageous battle with Neurosarcoidosis on August 12, 2018 at Buckingham Valley Nursing and Rehab Center.  He was 65

Al was the beloved husband of 24 years to Michelle E. Wertz Drummond.

Born in Corning, NY, he was the son of the late Rudolph, Sr. and Barbara Cox Drummond.

Al was the first African American to be granted a scholarship at the University of Virginia for Basketball.  He had an immense love for his family and he always enjoyed time spent clowning around as Nuncle Al with his dear nieces and nephews.  Al will be greatly missed, but eternally loved by everyone who had the pleasure to have been in his life.    

In addition to his loving wife, Al is survived by his brothers: Rudolph, Jr. and his wife Rosalyn, Tyrone and his wife Rose, and Vincent Drummond and his wife Diane.  He is also survived by his mother-in-law Elsie Wertz, his sisters-in-law Kate Minarcik and Chris Shafer, and her husband Ben and his numerous nieces and nephews.

Al's family will receive condolences on Saturday, August 18^th from 12:00 pm until his Memorial Service 1:00pm at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home 241 E. Butler Ave.(at Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain, PA.18901.  Interment will be private.
