Robert W. Pankoe, longtime resident of New Britain, PA died peacefully with his family by his side, on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He was 70 years old.

He is the beloved husband of Marie Delp Pankoe, with whom he shared 25 years of marriage.

Born in Kassel, Germany during WWII at the United States 25^th Medical General Dispensary, he was the son of the late Lt. Col. Walter W. and Elizabeth Pavluk Pankoe.

Robert grew up in the Fairview section of Camden, NJ and spent the last 40 years in New Britain. He attained an associate’s degree at Temple University in electrical technology and then completed a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering at the University of Miami.  After traveling the nation installing the original CATV systems, he enjoyed a successful career as a project manager in the electrical engineering industry. 

Robert is remembered for his always cheerful and smiling attitude despite any hardships, emanating the Holy Spirit.  His passion was to create a legacy for his family in passing down his lifelong hobby.  He treasured the unique relationship that he had with each of them and relished the time he spent with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Marie, he will be greatly missed by his children and their spouses, Ryan W. and Laura Pankoe, Sharon L. and Joel Homan; and his step-daughters, Rachele Wilson and Charlene and Stephen Dunn. Robert is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Walter D. and Elizabeth Pankoe.

His smile and hugs will be missed by his grandchildren, Joshua and Jeffrey Pankoe, Hannah and James Homan, Lauren, Isaiah, Erik and Josiah Wilson and Samuel, Tucker, and Laura Grace Dunn.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 during calling hours from 9:30-10:45am. Robert’s Funeral Service and a Time of Remembrance will begin at 11:00am at the Joseph A. Fluehr, III Funeral Home, 241 E. Butler Ave. (at Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain, PA 18901. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park in Cinnaminson, NJ.
