Susan E. Dougherty passed peacefully on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania at the age of 70.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late James and Elizabeth (Gatti) Salantri.

Susan was the beloved wife of Thomas J. Dougherty for 36 years. In addition to her husband Tom, Sue is survived by her loving and devoted children: Thomas S Dougherty of Philadelphia and Stacy Dougherty and her husband Brian Zavodnick of Ivyland.  She cherished time with her granddaughter, Taylor. She is survived by her brother James Salantri (Kathleen) and her nieces and nephews (Elissa, Jimmy, Ryan and Jackie).

Sue was a 2nd grade teacher at Benjamin Rush Elementary School in Bensalem for over 40 years and was beloved by all her students.  She was an active member of the fitness center at the Spring Mill Country Club for many years. Sue would light up the room and was always the life of the party (especially on the dance floor).  She enjoyed traveling the world and summers in Ocean City, NJ with family and friends. Sue loved the Christmas season, Broadway, listening to Sinatra, shopping at Macy’s and a passion for cooking. Above all, she loved being with her family and cherished every moment that has been forged into the hearts and minds of her children and granddaughter. Sue will be greatly missed by everyone who has had the pleasure to be in her life.
