Ruth Elizabeth MacNamee of Doylestown passed away peacefully at the age of 95 on Friday, July 13, 2018, at Doylestown Hospital.
Born in Philadelphia, Ruth was the daughter of the late George T. and Mary E. Keidel Jenkins and was the mother of the late Susan E. MacNamee. Ruth was the beloved wife of the late Edward A. MacNamee.
Ruth was a long time resident of Bucks County, having lived in Doylestown Borough and Lahaska before moving to Neshaminy Manor Home in Warrington. She was known to many in Doylestown Borough for her kind way and her outgoing personality. Throughout the years, Ruth left a lasting impression on others in the many jobs that spanned her lifetime. She worked at the catalog desk for Sears in Doylestown and also in the Kiddie Care Department with the YMCA in Doylestown. Ruth was on a first name basis with many people that she enjoyed seeing daily. She was an extremely talented seamstress who would sew costumes for her grandchildren and had worked altering bridal gowns for many brides in the Doylestown community. Ruth will be deeply missed by her family and by all who came to know her.
Ruth is survived by her son Edward A. MacNamee and his wife Elizabeth of Dublin, her brother David Jenkins of Souderton and her sister, Dorothy Trumbauer of Lansdale. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Andrew, Sarah and her husband Kevin, Rebecca and Peter along with her son-in-law H. Michael Boyle of Perkasie.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family from 9:00am until her Funeral Service 10:00am on Saturday, July 21st in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241East Butler Avenue (at Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain, PA 18901. Ruth’s interment will follow in Doylestown Cemetery in Doylestown.
