Gerard J. “Jerry” Gaul of North Wales, passed away surrounded by his family on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He was 61.

Jerry was the loving husband of Betty McCloskey Gaul and together they shared 26 years of marriage.

Born in Philadelphia he was a son of the late Joseph and Mary Borger Gaul.

Jerry graduated from Cardinal Dougherty High School in 1975 and later earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from Drexel University. From there he flourished in his career with the federal government, first with the IRS and later with the GSA where he began as an auditor and held various other positions. He was extremely dedicated to his job and it showed with his continued dedication to working, even during his illness.

Jerry was a resident of North Wales and Parishioner of Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Parish since 1994. He enjoyed gardening, golfing, and was an avid Philadelphia Flyers fan. Jerry also treasured time with his family at their home in Ocean City, NJ. He will be remembered for his goofy sense of humor; providing countless silly selfies over the years. Jerry was fiercely devoted to his family, his friends, and will be greatly missed.

In addition to his wife, Jerry is survived by his children, Brianna M. and Matt J. Gaul; his brothers, Joseph Gaul (Wendy) and James Gaul (Maureen); his sister Diane Eckert (Greg); and many loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Gaul (Marykate).

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Thursday, July 12, 2018 from 9:30 AM until his Funeral Mass 11:00 AM at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Church, 1325 Upper State Rd., North Wales, PA 19454. His interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 100 N. 20th St., 4th Floor, Philadelphia, PA 19103.
