Eileen Christian of Doylestown and formerly a long time resident of Philadelphia passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Jefferson University Hospital. She was 78.

She was the beloved wife of the late Francis W. Christian who passed away in 2001.

Born in Philadelphia, Eileen was a daughter of the late Michael and Dorothy Loram Lyons.

Eileen was a life long Philadelphia resident before relocating to Doylestown recently. She was a graduate of Little Flower High School with the class of 1953 and along with her husband had been an actively involved parishioner of Our Lady of Ransom Church in Philadelphia.

Eileen spent many years at home raising her children and when they were grown went on to work as an assistant in the administration department of Jeanes Hospital for many years.

She was an avid Phillies fan and enjoyed cheering on her beloved home team. Her bigger than life personality and the huge amount of love she had for her family, most especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren will be remembered by her family forever. She will be dearly missed.

Eileen is survived by her children, Deborah Altomari and her husband, Louis, Gary Christian and his wife, Mary, Eileen Rose and her husband, Jerry, and Joseph Christian and his wife, Kristina. She also leaves behind her adoring grandchildren, Tim, Mary Beth, Colleen, Brett, Jake, Kendall, Casey, Maura, and Joey; and great-grandchildren, Timmy, Megan, Danny, and Kiersten. She also leaves behind many extended relatives, friends, and her “sorority” sisters. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Lyons and her sister, Dorothy Brill.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Wednesday October 29, 2014 at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.), Richboro, PA 18954 and to her funeral mass 10:30 AM on Thursday October 30, 2014 at Our Lady of Ransom Church, 6700 Roosevelt Blvd., Philadelphia, PA 19149.

Interment will follow in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, Langhorne.
