Barbara A. Rodia Feeney, 75, a longtime resident of Holland, PA died on July 4, 2018, peacefully at Abington Jefferson Health Hospice in Warminster.
Barbara was reunited with the late James P. Feeney, Sr., her soulmate and beloved husband of 50 years.
Born in Philadelphia, Barbara was the daughter of the late Louis and Anne Matijosaitis Rodia. Barbara remained a resident of Philadelphia until she moved with her husband, James Sr., to Holland in 1971 where they raised their four children. They were a family of deep religious faith and devoted communicants of St. Bede the Venerable Church in Holland. In 1990, James Sr. and Barbara founded the reputable Brotherston Homecare in Bensalem which continues its operations under the leadership of James Jr.
Barbara's most treasured possession was her family, and she always put them first. Her pure joy was spending quality time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed vacationing with family including trips to Disney, the beach, and the annual football trip. In her later years, you could find her on the porch in Wildwood during the summer. There, with a glass of pinot noir, over ice, of course, she would have intimate conversations with family and watch the kids, and sometimes adults, play in the yard. Nothing made her happier than having all of the family together under one roof for their traditional Italian Christmas dinner and visit from Santa Claus.
Barbara is survived by her loving children, Karen (Bruce Demoss), James Jr. (Mary), Mark Sr. (Kristin), and Matthew Sr. (Jennifer). The legacy of James Sr. and Barbara will be carried on by their cherished grandchildren, Amanda (Matthew Sarant), Christopher (Meaghan), Bryan (Sydney), Matthew Jr., Piper, Isabella, Logan, Jordan, and Mark Jr.; and great-grandchildren, James, Brooklyn, and one expected in February. Barbara is also survived by the siblings of James Sr., Patricia Croghan, Francis (Katherine), and Maureen (Joseph McDonnell). She will be deeply missed by her family and by all who came to know her.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing from 9:30 AM until her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Rd. Holland, PA 18966. Barbara’s interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Autism Delaware (delautism.org), 924 Old Harmony Road, Suite 201, Newark, DE 19713 or A Woman’s Place (awomansplace.org), 1281 Almshouse Road, Doylestown, PA 18901. An online guestbook is available at www.fluehr.com.
