Karen Eve Borak Lutkus of Yardley died suddenly on Saturday, June 24, 2018 at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne. She was 77.
She was the beloved wife of 41 years to Anthony Lutkus, PhD.
Born in New Brunswick, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Catherine Boehm Borak.
Karen, retired in 2003 had spent most of her working career at various levels of education including Assistant to the Graduate Dean at Rutgers University, Newark, consultant to the Junior Achievement Program in Southeast, Pennsylvania, and manager of the Morrisville, PA Head Start Program. Karen’s hobby was the genealogical research she did to trace her ancestors’ documents in Europe back to the 1690’s. She belonged to the Lower Bucks Genealogical Society and was also recently a member of the Bucks County Courier Times’ citizen advisory Board. Karen was an avid traveler and she enjoyed many trips with her husband and family and the annual family reunions in Florida.
In addition to her loving husband Anthony, Karen is survived by her loving and devoted children: Christine Sizer and her husband Chris McGuire of Littleton, CO, Erik Lutkus of St. Augustine, FL, and Allison Calabrese and her husband Tyler of Crofton, MD. She is also survived by her eight dear grandchildren: Garrison, Sgt. Killian, USMC, and Finn Sizer, Audrey, and Alexa Lutkus, and Stella, Luke, and Willa Calabrese.
Karen’s family will receive friends on Saturday, June 30, 2018 from 11:00AM until her Memorial Service 1:00PM in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers contributions in her memory may be made to Operation Smile, 3641 Faculty Blvd. Virginia Beach, VA 23453.
