Robert H. Olmsted of Doylestown died Wednesday, June 20, 2018 surrounded by his loving family at Pine Run Lakeview in Doylestown. He was 88.
Robert was the loving and devoted husband of Patricia Houy Olmsted of Pittsburgh PA for 55 years.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late Harold and Ellen Erikkson Olmsted.
Bob was a former resident of Oyster Bay, New York before moving to Doylestown in 1969.He was a graduate of Xavier Military High School NYC and Villanova University Class of 1952 and was extremely active in the Alumni Association and supported all Villanova sports teams especially the basketball program. In his leisure, he was an avid golfer and a member of the Doylestown Country Club. He always put his family above all and will be remembered for his great sense of humor and his quiet strength and humility.
Bob is survived by his children, Michele Brennecke and her husband Timothy of New Britain, Melissa Bakeman and her fiance John Novak of Bethlehem, Sharon Lancaster and her husband Matt of Quakertown. He is also survived by his 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing from 6:00 to 8:00pm on Monday, June 25th in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Avenue, (at Sandy Ridge Road) New Britain, PA 18901 and to his Funeral Mass 11:00am on Tuesday, June 26 in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 235 East State St. Doylestown, PA 18901. Bob’s interment will follow in Doylestown Cemetery in Doylestown.
If so desired, contributions in Bob’s memory may be made to a charity of a donor’s choice.
