Michael J. McAneny Jr. passed away on June 19, 2018 at Harston Hall in Flourtown. He was 71.
Born in Philadelphia he was the son of the late Michael J. Sr. and Anna T. nee Maguire McAneny.
A graduate of Northeast Catholic High School Michael went on to serve proudly with the United States Air Force, serving with the Strategic Air Command and retiring as a Sergeant after 20 years. He remained an active Veteran serving as a Historian for the American Legion and he enjoyed attending Air Shows at the Willow Grove Air Force Base.
Michael was an avid fan of the Eagles and Flyers and enjoyed watching all types of War movies. He was kind and caring with a contagious smile and even in the face of physical challenges over the years, he never, ever complained. He will be dearly missed as a loving brother, uncle, and friend.
Surviving are his siblings, Joseph P. McAneny (Lenni), John R. McAneny (Peggy Ann) and Noreen A. McAneny (Thomas Donahey). He also leaves behind his nephews, Michael McAneny-Binetsky, Joe Jr., John G., and R. Patrick McAneny and his niece Katie McAneny.
Relatives and friends may greet the family Monday, June 25, 2018 from 6:00 – 8:30 PM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.), Richboro, PA 18954 and on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 from 9:00 AM until his Funeral Mass 10:00 AM at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Rd., Holland, PA 18966. His interment with Military Honors will follow in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown.
In lieu of flowers, sonations may be made in his memory to Hayes Manor Friendship Fund, 2210 Belmont Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19131.
