Samuel H. Loughery of Jamison died Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at his daughter’s residence in Exton. He was 91.
Samuel was the beloved husband of 52 years to the late Bernice D. McGurk Loughery.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late John and Elizabeth Gault Loughery.
Samuel was a former resident of Trevose before moving to Jamison in 1994. He was a proud veteran of the US Navy serving during World War II and a Communicant of St. Cyril of Jerusalem Church in Jamison. Samuel was a Tool and Die Maker with Quaker City Gear in Huntingdon Valley with over 40 years of distinguished service until his retirement in 1992. Upon his retirement, he would vacation in the winter in Naples, Florida and spend his summers in North Wildwood, NJ. Samuel was the consummate family man and was very proud of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and will be deeply missed by all.
Samuel is survived by his children; Patricia” Patti” Hartman and her husband Michael of Warminster, Debbie Tarpey and her husband Michael of Langhorne, Bernie Ryan and her husband Michael of Exton, John Loughery and his wife Liz of Wayne, Mary Jane McCain and her husband Kevin of Jamison and Janet McGlinchey and her husband Michael of Warrington. Samuel is also survived by his sister, Mary Jane Robinson of Hatboro, 22 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family from 9:00am until his Funeral Mass 10:30am on Friday, May 11th in St. Cyril of Jerusalem Church, 1410 Almshouse Road, Jamison, PA 18929. Samuel’s interment will follow in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery in Langhorne.
