Sarah “Sally” Mellon of Holland, PA died suddenly on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at her home.  She was 77.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the beloved wife of the late Thomas J. Mellon and the daughter of the late John and Monica O’Toole McAnulty. She was the loving sister to the late Billy, Delores, Jack, Joe, Betty, Margie, Franny and Tommy.

Sally worked as a waitress for over 30 years and loved being around people. She began her career at Breen’s Pinetree Inn continued through the Watering Hole Tavern and retired from the Pineville Tavern. Sarah was an avid lover of all things Irish and truly embraced her heritage. She was also a big fan of the Mummer’s Parade; especially the string bands. She was an excellent dancer and loved to jitterbug. One of her greatest joys was entertaining her family on the holidays and cooking for them.  She had an engaging and vibrant personality and spent countless hours socializing with friends and family on the phone.

She is survived by her loving children: Tamera B. Leigh, Monica Minniti and her husband Nate, Thomas Mellon, James Mellon and his husband Kevin Bailey, Robert Mellon and his wife Judy, Craig Mellon, Veronica Houtz and her husband D.J., and Knute Mellon and his wife Bernadette.  She is also survived by her sister Regina Gontz, her brother James McAnulty, her 19 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. 

Sally’s family will receive on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 from 10:00am until her Funeral Mass 11:00am in St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Rd. Holland, PA 18966.  Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Bensalem, PA.
