Michael Scott Richardson, peacefully passed on April 18, 2018 at home in Richboro, PA, surrounded by his family. He was 67 years old.

He was married to the love of his life Cynthia (Cindy) Zacharias for 21 years.

Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Scott was the son of the late Floyd Lee and Maudeena Ballard Richardson. He was a proud veteran, having served in the US Army.  Throughout Scott’s life he demonstrated a love for learning—whether new skills or a profession.  He completed graduate studies including a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology and a Masters Degree in Human Resources Management.   Along the way, he pursued careers in Information Technology Project Management, Human Resource Management, and as a Licensed Professional Counselor. 

A man of strong faith in God, he was an active member of Washington Crossing United Methodist Church and the church worship team.  His commitment to supporting those in need was exemplified in his volunteer work through Habitat for Humanity, UMCOR [United Methodist Committee on Relief], and the American Red Cross.  This included disaster relief for Hurricane Katrina and other gulf coast region weather events—where he leveraged his talent for counseling people during difficult times as well as his physical handiwork skills.

Family was always his priority—he cherished family gatherings large and small.  He was very involved in his daughters’ sports activities as a coach and was his grandkids’ biggest fan—whether at the soccer field, music recital, or school event. 

Scott had a passion for music throughout his life.  As a child, he taught himself to play the guitar and enjoyed playing from then forward whenever he had opportunity—from jamming with friends to participation in church music teams.  He and Cindy also greatly enjoyed attending live music venues—especially in recent years as WXPN/Philadelphia Special Producer members.

Scott especially loved and appreciated the natural beauty of God’s creation and loved outdoor activities from scuba diving to hiking to cross-country skiing to walks in the woods or along the beach.  He and Cindy enjoyed many travel adventures over the years—in both domestic and international destinations.

Scott and Cindy shared a love of Lake Michigan and together they designed and built a beautiful home there.  The lake has been a gathering place for family and friends and created special memories for all who visited. 

Scott leaves to celebrate his life--his beloved wife Cindy, loving daughters and sons-in-law, Marvy and Chris Whiteside and Lena and Chad Dziedzic, and grandchildren Tanner, Taylor, Kenzie and KJ.  He will be missed by his brother and sister-in-law, David and Lisa Richardson and many extended family members and special friends, including his lifelong friend, Bob Igo.

Friends and family are invited to greet the family on Wednesday, April 25 2018, from 10:30am until the start of his Celebration of Life, 11:30am, at Washington Crossing United Methodist Church, 1895 Wrightstown Rd., Washington Crossing, PA 18977. Scott’s interment will take place privately.
