Veronica B. Hermanson, of Langhorne, PA died on Sunday, March 2, 2014, at Chandler Hall Hospice. She was 90.

She was the beloved wife of 68 years to Vincent P. Hermanson.

Born in Gloucester City, NJ she was a daughter of the late George C. and Catherine V. Williams.

Veronica was a resident of Langhorne, PA for 57 years and a member of St. Bede the Venerable Catholic Church since it’s inception. Prior, she was a member of St. Andrew’s Church, where she coached girl’s basketball for many years.

A graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Gloucester City, she went on to become a registered nurse, graduating from the St. Francis Hospital nursing program in Trenton, NJ. During her career she worked extensively in geriatrics with various senior living facilities and was also employed with St. Mary Medical Center, from where she retired in 1981.

Veronica had a wide variety of interests, including bowling, tennis, playing slot machines, basketball, and skiing, which she loved to do with her family. She also enjoyed travelling, scrabble, and writing poetry. Most of all, however, Veronica will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister who treasured her family deeply. She will be dearly missed.

In addition to her husband, Veronica is survived by her daughters, Veronica Widmer, Kathleen McCloskey and her husband, Robert, of Newtown, PA , Rosemary McLaughlin and her husband, Edward, of Schuylkill Haven, PA, Patricia Satchell and her husband, David, of Hulmeville, PA, Eileen Dutton and her husband, George, of Newtown, PA, and Karen Lynch and her husband, William of Upper Nyack, NY; her sister, Nan Poshka of Glendora, NJ; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass, 11 a.m., Friday, March 7, 2014 at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Rd., Holland, PA 18966.

Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Veronica’s memory to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
