Edward F. Jardel, a long time resident of Feasterville, was peacefully welcomed into the Loving Arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, February 11, 2018, following a courageous 5-year battle with cancer.  He was at home, surrounded by his loving family.  Ed was 84.

Ed was the loving and devoted husband of Edna Lubis Jardel, his best friend, with whom he shared 60 years of marriage.

Born in the Burholme section of Philadelphia, he was the son of the late John C. and Mary Diringer Jardel and was predeceased by 11 brothers and sisters.

Ed was a graduate of Presentation BVM grammar school and Northeast Catholic High School. In 1954 Ed received his Bachelors degree in Animal Husbandry from then Delaware Valley College, now Delaware Valley University. Ed proudly served in the United States Army, from 1955 thru 1957, in the 2nd Armored Division.

He worked for over 20 years at Burholme Motors, a family-owned Dodge dealership in Northeast Philadelphia which was started by his late grandfather, Simon Diringer, in 1919.

Ed had deep faith in Jesus Christ and has been a faithful communicant of Assumption BVM Church for over 60 years. No matter what religious holiday, you could hear Ed filling the church with his beautiful singing voice praising the Lord.  His faithfulness and joyous voice will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Ed will be singing in welcome for the communicants of Assumption BVM and his family and friends, when they reach the Heavenly Gates.

Ed was family focused. He loved his children and grandchildren and great grandchildren, supported them in all of their activities, and was most proud of all that they accomplished.  He remained active in the community long after he retired. He was an active member of the Phoenix Sports Club for over 50 years, recently serving on the Board of Governors.

He will be sadly missed for his loving ways and beautiful voice.

In addition to his wife, Ed is survived by his loving children; Mark P. Jardel (Glenda), Marie Annette Johnston (Jim), Edward W. Jardel, Jr., and Paul A. Jardel. He also leaves behind his loving grandchildren; Bryan, Sean, Hanna, William, and Olivia, his great-grandchildren; Hailey, Nolan, Parker, and his sister Joan McManus of San Diego, CA.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Saturday, February 17, 2018 from 9:00 am until his Funeral Mass at 11:00am at Assumption B.V.M. Church, 1900 Meadowbrook Rd., Feasterville, PA 19053.  His interment will take place privately at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Philadelphia.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Ed’s memory may be made to Assumption B.V.M Church, 1900 Meadowbrook Rd., Feasterville, PA 19053.
