Aladino R. Vittoriano of Newtown, PA died peacefully on Saturday, March 15, 2014, at his grandson’s home in Bensalem surrounded by his family and loved ones. He was 87.
In his passing, he joins his beloved wife of 64 years, Edwina L. Wydrych Vittoriano, who predeceased him on February 19, 2014, and their son, Ronald J. Vittoriano who predeceased them both on October 7, 2001.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the first in the family to be a natural born American, he was the son of the late Aladino Vittoriano and Mary DeSanto Vittoriano, brother of Alverda Vittoriano, and the late Doris Vittoriano.
Aladino “Bud” Vittoriano has had a rich, full, and exciting life with so many notable events that it would be impossible to name them all. He devoted his life to his family, his country, and his community. From being responsible for all the biometric telemetry of the first monkey “Bonnie” in space, to being responsible for the targeting systems on nuclear submarines for the Navy, to being an Ameteur radio operator, to volunteering to rebuild the Schofield Ford Covered Bridge in Tyler State Park after it was destroyed by fire in 1991.
He is survived by his sister Alverda Vittoriano, daughter Diane M. Vittoriano-Martin, three grandchildren Evan Vittoriano, Matthew Peer, and Brandon Peer, and three great-grandchildren, Owen Vittoriano, Lucas Peer, and Noah Vittoriano.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, March 20, 2014, from 9:30 AM until his Funeral Mass 10:30 AM at the Olde Church of Saint Andrew, 135 S. Sycamore Street, Newtown, PA 18940.
Interment will take place at St. Andrew Cemetery.
