Joy Rye Carducci of Newtown died peacefully surrounded by her loving and devoted family on Monday, January 30, 2018 in the comfort of her home in Newtown. She was 61.
Joy was the beloved wife of 30 years to John Carducci and the loving mother of Dana Joy and Jamie Tate Carducci.
Born in Newark, New Jersey she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Vera Rye Lamberti and sister of the late Marc Rye Lamberti.
Joy graduated from Kean University in 1978 with a bachelor’s degree in Social Work and worked for the NJ DYFS for several years. Joy then transitioned into a career in computer programming for the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies. This career change led her by fate to fall in love with the man who would become the love of her life. After she raised her daughters, Joy went to work as the Church Administrator at Ascension Lutheran Church until her retirement in 2017. She enjoyed spinning classes, playing tennis with friends, and being a verbose conversationalist, but she cherished all the times she spent with her family and friends. She was also an advocate for the rights of those with special needs. Joy will be greatly missed for the love and warm smiles she shared with those that had the privilege to have been able to call her their wife, mother, and friend.
Joy’s family will receive friends on Saturday, February 10, 2018 from 10:00am until her Memorial Service at 12 Noon in Ascension Lutheran Church, 900 Washington Crossing Road, Newtown, PA 18940. Interment will take place in the church’s memorial garden.
In lieu of flowers contributions in her memory may be made to either the foundation that was started by her Physician: ALS Hope Foundation, PO Box 40777 Philadelphia, PA 19107 ALSHF.org or the Ascension Luther Church, 900 Washington Crossing Road Newtown, PA 18940.
