Alan Edgar Macfarlan, 85, of Holland, previously Churchville, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2018 at Twining Village.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mildred, and their three children: Alan, Tom (Dora) & Trish (Ed). He was the grandfather of Kristy (Josh), Daniel (Jennifer), Mandie (Jon), Tom, Guenevere (Dallas), Jeff, Tonya, Jen, Tara, & Andrew, and great grandfather of Savannah, Austin, Mitchell, Connor, Sammy, Noah, & Daisy.

Alan was born in 1932 in Abington to Norris and Florence and grew up in Glenside. Before his retirement he worked as a machinist and served as a volunteer fire fighter with the Weldon and Lingohocken Fire Companies. He will be remembered by family and friends for his love of family camping trips, boating & waterskiing on the Delaware, spending his winters at their home in Florida, and flying his bright yellow ultralight airplane.

The celebration of Alan's life will take place Friday January 12, 2018 beginning with a viewing at 9:00 AM until his Funeral Service at 10:00 AM at Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Rd.), Richboro, PA 18954.  His interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Feasterville.

Relatives and friends are also invited to an additional celebration of Alan’s life on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 10:00 AM in the Kelly Auditorium at Twining Village, 280 Middle Holland Rd., Holland, PA 18966.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to Twining Village Resident's Life Care Trust, 280 Middle Holland Rd, Holland, PA 18966.
