Anthony Joseph Sciolla Jr. of Warminster died peacefully on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia. He was 67 years old.
Born in Philadelphia, AJ was the beloved husband of 36 years to Gail W. Sciolla and devoted father to his two daughters, Alyse and Samantha, and his two son-in-laws, Warren Jaffe and Nicholas Mykulak. He is survived by his loving sister and brothers, Nanette Carney, David Sciolla, and John Sciolla. He was the son of the late Anthony Joseph and Nanette Leva Sciolla and the brother of the late Suzanne Sciolla.
AJ was a former resident of Richboro for 29 years before recently moving to Warminster. He was a graduate of Villanova University and the Widener Law School. AJ was an accomplished and distinguished attorney that practiced various types of law in Jenkintown. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan and enjoyed especially the Philadelphia Flyers. AJ was knowledgeable in many areas, especially history and geography, which transpired into his involvement in the political community in Northampton Township. He donated countless hours of his time, especially giving back to his community.
The family would like to acknowledge the support and care of their family and friends since his diagnosis in July. They are eternally grateful for the care, kindness, and guidance from the Head and Neck Division at Fox Chase Cancer Center.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family from 9:00am until his Funeral Service at 11:00am on Thursday, January 11th in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954. AJ’s interment will follow at Montefiore Cemetery in Jenkintown; the burial will be private for immediate family only. The family welcomes AJ’s family and friends to the Community Room at their residence for a lunch at 3:00 p.m. at 222 South Norristown Road Warminster, PA 18974.
