Sebastian P. “Ben” Arcidiacono passed away peacefully on Friday, December 29, 2017 with his loving family by his side at Abington-Jefferson Health Hospice at Warminster.  He was 92.

Ben was the loving and devoted husband of the late Margaret D. “Peggy” Arcidiacono with whom he had shared 50 years of marriage until her passing in 2005.

Born in Philadelphia he was the son of the late Giovanni and Leonarda Finocchiaro Arcidiacono.

Ben graduated from South Philadelphia High School before later attending Temple University, earning an associates degree.  He led a long career as a mechanical designer, first for Philco and later as an independent contractor until his retirement.

Along with his wife, he was a long time member of the Pennsylvania Federation of Square Dancing and performed at many exhibitions.  He enjoyed skiing, bike riding, sailing and whitewater canoeing, was a talented water color painter and treasured spending time on his relative’s farm. These were among many other hobbies and interests.

Ben was also endlessly devoted to his family and was known for never missing a sporting event or performance of one of his children or grandchildren.  He was kind, loving, and a man of great character and he will be dearly missed.

Surviving are his children, John B. Arcidiacono (Donna), Joseph R. Arcidiacono (Patti), Marguerite A. Trahey (Paul), and Mark R. Arcidiacono (Mary).  He also leaves behind his sister, Mary Bonanno (the late Carmen), 20 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family at St. Cyril of Jerusalem Church, 1410 Almshouse Rd., Jamison, PA 18929 on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM and again on Thursday, January 4, 2018 from 10:00 AM until his Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. His interment will follow in St. Andrew Cemetery, Newtown.
