George Albert Janke of Warminster died Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Abington Hospital in Abington. He was 73.
George was the beloved husband of 51 years to Teresa “Terry” M. (Horahan) Janke.
Born in Glenside, he was the son of the late John Janke Jr. and Margaret (Hannon) Janke.
George was a graduate of Lansdale Catholic High School. He was a heavy equipment operator with Carr & Duff for 24 years and was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 542.
He enjoyed hunting. Pennsylvania whitetail season was his favorite time of the year. He was a fan of NASCAR, Philadelphia Eagles and the Phillies.
Special thanks to the staff at Davita Dialysis Abington for their compassionate care of George.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Glenn Patrick Janke; brother, Edward (Betty) of Hatfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, John, Joseph and Robert Janke; and his sisters, and Rosemary Donovan, Margaret Cave and Anne Schweitzer.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing from 9:00am until his Funeral Service 10:30am on Saturday, December 30, 2017 in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954. George’s interment will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Cheltenham.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Bucks County Special Olympics, P.O. Box 317, Bristol, PA 19007 or to the Central Bucks Emergency Medical Services, 455 East Street, Doylestown, PA 18901.
